My Information Technology Degree Modules for next year!
Finally some news on what Modules I will be taking or can take next year for my last year on my Degree in Information Technology with the University of Kent have finally emerged from a meeting held yesterday morning with us students.
The mandatory and optional modules are as follows:
- Preterm
Foundations of Information Technology and Computing - Autumn term
Computing Project (To continue in spring term)
Distributed Systems and Networks
IT Consultancy Methods
Optional Module - Spring term
Computing Project (Continued from autumn term)
IT Consultancy Practice 2
Optional Module
Optional Module - Module options
Natural Computation (Available to choose)
Computer Security and Cryptography (Available to choose)
Enterprise Applications (Unavailable to choose)
Electronic Commerce (Available to choose)
Computing Law & Professional Responsibility (Available to choose)
Information Systems Study (Unavailable to choose)
Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing (Available to choose)
Data mining and Knowledge Discovery (Unavailable to choose)
Small Business Management (Available to choose)
Now all I have to do is decide which ones I like out of the optional modules and take my vote to the tutors for next year.
I think I may choose Natural Computation, Computing Law & Professional Responsibility and Small Business Management but I do quite like the sound of Computer Security and Cryptography but I’m worried that it might have a lot of maths in it and I would love to choose Electronic Commerce and Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing but they will be done using Sun’s Java for sure, so let’s just say I’m not a big fan of Java coding, or at least not yet, hehe!
So what would you choose and why?
Also what do you think about my first 3 choices? 😉
