Blog Upgraded to WordPress 2.1.3 plus added new theme!

Well after much thorough testing (after the fiasco last time) I’ve now upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.1.3, and in addition to that addition I’ve also updated the blog theme from Lush v0.99.8 to Fresh-Compact v1.2 with some added improvements from Praveen Kumar’s version as well as some of my own improvements.

I hope you will enjoy this new theme as I wait eagerly for your feedback on it. I really want to hear if you think it’s better or worse than the last theme and what improvements can be made to it, also are you sad to see the Live Search feature go (I can re-implement if necessary) but happy to see the Shoutbox back, whatever you want to say about the new theme, let me know!

All feedback welcome… 🙂

Update: Thanks goe’s to Decipher for noticing that the Sidebar appeared at the bottom in Firefox 2.0.03, I was going to do one final test in Firefox last night but completly forgot about it, the problem’s all fixed now. I just forgot to float one of the divs in the sidebar to the right, guess IE7 forgave me for that.

2nd Update: Possible a diffrent colour? How about a colour theme selector or some click buttons to change the colour? What do you think of the black and pink in this picture, better or worse?

3rd Update: Looks like the current blue and green colour scheme is here to stay, as it’s got a thumbs up from my friend Eric Cheung and the andyman from Messenger Stuff has now grown to the colours, though he say’s that the idea of a colour changer woulnd’nt be a bad idea! 🙂

Anyhow thanks Eric for you’re feedback and thanks the andyman for all your feedback, I’ve fixed the coment anchor link problem and will look into having an option to preview comments before submitting them.

Thanks for everyones feedback so far, keep it coming! 🙂

Hey Darren,

New Design looks nice, although it appears to be broken in FF 2.0.0.3.
Still, looks nice in IE7.

New theme looks great (although I have to say I like the layout more than the colours) and I can confirm that the sidebar is fixed in FF 🙂

Very sharp colour!! good colour selection though (i mean i am sure they all are web-safe colours) 🙂 Nice job!!

Now I see it again the colour scheme has grown on me :P, although some small buttons/images that change the colours when clicked would be nice (the black and pink looks OK but I prefer the green and blue now).
Also I’ve spotted a couple of things: in your “Elsewheres” you still have Windows Live Ideas which no longer exists, and your new theme/template doesn’t have the #comments anchor in so it doesn’t jump to the comments when it should (easy enough to code back in though ;)). Oh and an option to preview comments before submitting them would be nice.
