Neat idea but who in their right mind would waste time logging in to search on the off chance that they may win some cash. Surely anyone can see that as the number of users increases their chances of 'winning' diminish accordingly.
Maybe not. Perhaps people aren't that savvy.
The fact is people are used to the 'instant on searches' which is the model just about every other search engine there has ever been uses.
Google stays at number one in this most competitive of markets because it is fast, easy and accurate. All it requires its user to do is ask a question.
I guess Mr Jupp is hoping that people would make oparla their default search engine and ignore Google.
Still Google came out of nowhere but the Google founders realised that none of the opposition especially Yahoo or Alta Vista were focussed purely on search so there was an opportunity to exploit.
I cannot see the same opportunity for oparla to exploit.
Mr Jupp is either a fool or a brave man.
