Bitdefender releases tool to eradicate Flamer espionage weapon

Bitdefender, one of the world leading global antivirus companies, has released a tool to find and remove the most complex, dangerous spy tool discovered to date, the Flamer attack toolkit.

Flamer, also known as Skywiper, can steal data; copy passwords; record voice conversations; create screen captures; and even probe Bluetooth devices near the infected computer. The toolkit, which is thought to have spawned past espionage tools such as Stuxnet and Duqu, can spread through local networks or via removable drives such as USB sticks.

“Flamer is the scariest cyber espionage tool we’ve yet seen. It goes places where other spyware doesn’t go, retrieves information others don’t retrieve, and ensures the infected computer has no privacy whatsoever,” said Catalin Cosoi, Bitdefender’s Chief Security Researcher. “Luckily, the Bitdefender removal tool makes it easy to eliminate from your computer.”

Flamer is not a single spy tool, but rather an entire toolbox at the command of attackers. In file size, it is the biggest attack tool yet. Its sheer size means researchers will likely still be analysing Flamer for weeks to discover all of its functions.

For further information on Flamer, or to determine whether your computer is infected, download the Bitdefender removal tool at: http://labs.bitdefender.com/2012/05/cyber-espionage-reaches-new-levels-with-flamer/

Nintendo 3DS Presents Another Dimension

Nintendo UK is excited to announce ANOTHER DIMENSION, a series of special events and an interactive gallery exhibition, to celebrate the Europe-wide 3D photography competition that is currently underway.

Taking place in June will be a series of intimate photography field trips hosted by a range of high profile names, including one of Britain’s best-loved nature enthusiasts, Bill Oddie, and members of The Saturdays. Work created during these unique trips will then be exhibited alongside the best 3D photography work from the competition, within a special pop-up installation created by acclaimed artist Graham Hudson.

Taking in themes of People, Places, Animals, Augmented Reality and Objects, members of the public will be invited to take part in memorable and inspiring experiences, led by some of the UK’s best known and engaging personalities. Together with the opportunity to visit interesting places on a unique day out, they will also learn how to take 3D photographs using Nintendo 3DS consoles, to create a series of fun and eye-catching images, which will be entered into the 3D competition. Each field trip will also be attended by a member of the Royal Photographic Society who will be on hand to teach people about how to take high quality 3D photographs on their Nintendo 3DS. A unique opportunity to be taken on an intimate, visual adventure by a host of high profile names, the ANOTHER DIMENSION field trips are free and open to the public, and will be filled on first-come, first served basis, by signing up to photocomp@nintendo.co.uk . Confirmed field trips include:

  • 1 JUNE : DRESS UP WITH THE SATURDAYS (secret location)
  • 13 JUNE: WALK WITH DINOSAURS WITH RICK EDWARDS (Bristol Zoo)
  • 14 JUNE: STREET ART WALK WITH PURE EVIL (East London)
  • 15 JUNE: A TRIP TO THE ZOO WITH BILL ODDIE (Battersea Park Zoo, London)

The best of the photographs created during the field trips will also be featured as part of a giant installation at The Loading Bay Gallery, The Old Truman Brewery, Dray Walk off Brick Lane, E1 6QL from 6 – 8 July.

The exhibition will be created by the award-winning artist Graham Hudson, who will build a large-scale architectural sculpture created from scaffolding, to house the 3D images. Having exhibited at London’s Zabludowicz Collection, Auto Italia, Saatchi Gallery, Seventeen Gallery and a host of international gallery spaces, as well as being featured at the Frieze Sculpture Park in 2009, and creating commissions for Comme des Garcons, Hudson was also shortlisted for W Hotels’ Designers of the Future Award at DesignMiami in 2010.

The Nintendo 3DS Photography Competition has been launched in association with National Geographic Kids, famed for its exceptional wildlife photography, and the world’s oldest national photographic society, The Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

Competition entries are split into six dedicated categories, so no matter what you love to shoot, there’s a theme to suit you. The categories include: Animals, People, Places, Objects, Plants and Augmented Reality, which fully utilises the Augmented Reality features of the Nintendo 3DS system. The photo entries will be judged by an expert panel, including Tim Herbert, features editor of National Geographic Kids magazine, and Dr Michael Pritchard, Director General at the RPS.  The most promising photographer will win the top prize of a trip for two to Paris and a photography masterclass, while lucky runners-up will be awarded Nintendo goodies in recognition of their skill.

“Cube Land” – A Minecraft Music Video by Laura Shigihara

Youtuber (Laura Shigihara) brings the world an original Minecraft song called Cube Land.

Original video of Cube Land.

Same song, but improved video by .

Lyrics:

(verse 1)
I’m in a cube land
I dig with cold hands
I use these tools to try and climb out of this mess I’ve made

My door is open
Skeletons and zombies
I am broken, as they walk all over me
But if I keep on building walls, maybe they’ll stay away

(pre-chorus)
Think fast, it’s got to last if you’re gonna make it through the rest of the day
I’m trapped, I can’t go back, I’ve made the choice to stay

(chorus)
And we’ll fight… keep defending through the night
(we’ll fight the good fight)
Live… we’re all driven to survive
(we’ll fight the good fight)
I’ll keep going, just stay by my side.

(verse 2)
I’m in a cube land
My castle’s so grand
And once I lay these tracks I’ll finally make my escape

I am no one
I have no place, no one relates
And there is no sun
As the night covers this space
But I beg you, please please don’t let this life go to waste

(repeat pre-chorus and chorus)

“Not Mining You” – A Minecraft Parody of Gavin DeGraw’s Not Over You

Youtuber brings the world a Minecraft parody of Gavin DeGraw’s Not Over You.

Lyrics:

Caves, That’s Where I Have To Go,
To mine some cobble stone, mobs everywhere
I Stare At A dungeon or two, And Listen To the stereo
Hope, Hope There’s another mineshaft
But I Admit I Had It Good
But Until Then a strip mine for me, I Know, That Much Is Understood
Then I Realize

CHORUS:
If you ask me what I’m doing,
I would say I’m minin some stone
I would lie and say that coal is on my mind
But i go out, and I look down, at a double chest or too
And honestly I’m forced to face the truth
’cause no matter what I say I’m NOT MINING YOU

Dang, Dang dude there’s so much coal
And I Thought You got rid of it
I took this coal, replaced it with blaze
But you’re still mining it
I I’m a minecrafter doesn’t Matter where you spawn me
But it’s not even bright without you

CHORUS:
If you ask me what I’m doing,
I would say I’m minin some stone
I would lie and say that coal is on my mind
But i go out, and I look down, at a double chest or too
And honestly I’m forced to face the truth
’cause no matter what I say I’m NOT MINING YOU

And If I Had the Chance to respawn
You Know There Isn’t a Thing I Wouldn’t dig
I could go mine, and I’d feel fine
But only If torches are made
But Until Then

CHORUS:
If you ask me what I’m doing,
I would say I’m minin some stone
I would lie and say that coal is on my mind
But i go out, and I look down, at a double chest or too
And honestly I’m forced to face the truth
’cause no matter what I say I’m NOT MINING YOU

“Fallen Kingdom” – A Minecraft Parody of Coldplay’s Viva la Vida

Youtuber CaptainSparklez brings the world a Minecraft parody of Coldplay’s Viva la Vida.

Download the song on iTunes here at this link!

Lyrics:

I used to rule the world
Chunks would load when I gave the word
Now every night I go stow away
Hide from the mobs I used to slay

They once were terrified
Every time I looked into their eyes
Villagers would cheer my way
For a hero I was, that’s what they’d say

One minute we had it all
Next our world began to fall
Away from all that it had once become
They all cried for my help, but I stood there numb

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn ’round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
And hope one day that this chaos and
Destruction turns for the better
Never a bow in hand
And that was when I ruled the land

It was the creepers and Skeletons
Blew down the doors and boxed us in
Arrows whizzing by like streaks of light
I tried all that I could to stay and fight

As the undead roamed the street
Families broken at my feet
Life itself suspended by a thread
Oh, why is it that I wasn’t dead

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn ’round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
If this battle should leave me slain
I know that Herobrine calls my name
Better to take a stand
And that was when I ruled the land
