Murasna 39 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 Hi so i was reading though the highlands area list of awesome things that would be fun to do and noticed that there was an idea for a Renascence Fair area... but the lack of this area is very prominent in highlands! Not that this helps much but I have worked at a Ren fair before IRL and think that the layout and look would be a fun thing to do along with being a huge fun project to undertake! if a mod would be kind as to map out an area and other members of YAMS think of ideas for stalls/games/events for a few weekends that would be awesome! some ideas i had for games are: Egg throwing: have a CSO/MOD/ADMIN up in an area and people pay to throw eggs at them Siege the castle: a jump/mob course designed to test your skills in both navigation and fighting in order to get out with the loot inside, if you live you get to keep it! Pig Jousting/Sniping: (Shippy gets credit for this one) have 2 people saddle up on a pig with a bow and sent into a pit where the object is to shoot the other pig from your opponent (may have to wait until breeding is in the game) T_T archery range: though we do have one a competition can be held to see who can shoot the targets in the fastest time! PVP fights (need to test this out or someone else may know) in order to save from turning on PVP and greifing, I may have figured out a way that would still work PLEASE TEST THIS TO MAKE SURE but i think that if we put leather armor on the combatants that the armor will still take the damage w/o hurting the player, so first one to lose their armor would lose the fight! along with that there can be food stalls, rare materials on sale, etc. Any other ideas for this or comments? Shippinu 27 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 Actually, for the PVP fights, isn't PVP on in the Nether and Mining world? it could be a special event in one of those worlds. Murasna 39 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 Could he built in mining for a special event or even just the pvp ring/arena and have a port or portal built by Darren leading to it if Darren is willing of course. the nether would also be a fun area for building the ring for fights and would also allow fire as a added trap! As for the dress code we could have a fee to get in... Unless you are dresses for the occasion Also if you are working in the fair you must be dressed for the occasion to keep up the look and feel of the place. Good ideas guys keep em coming! I'll have to have a look around to see if there is enough flat area to make the booths and games. Have you been saving up eggs? Would contestants bring their own? Would you have a chicken pen nearby to keep producing the eggs? Could you make a 'dunking booth' using pistons? We used to have pig jousting where the staff housing is now. Darren can place a pig spawner but contestants would need to bring their own saddles. Archery range wouldn't be hard to assemble/disassemble. There've been a few of these around before.
