Some very sad news today.

Ben one of our moderators, better known as Satch2096 has handed in his resignation as Moderator! It’s very sad when someone steps down however I fully understand why and support his decision, grades are much more important than YAMS!

Here’s what he had to say, published with his permission:

Hey Darren,

Its with regret that i have to tell you that i dont think i can carry on with my current duties in the server without taking on my responsibilities to a suitable standard. Over the past few weeks i have been thinking and have come to the conclusion that due to the increased workload ive been presented with this year i dont think i will be able to be online as often as i need to in order to play an active role in the server. This will be ever more evident in the months to come as if i am to get the grades i need to go away to university i am going to need to concentrate more of my time on my studies.

I would also like to say that i have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a CSO and a moderator and although i wont be able to help you guys in terms of dealing with crimes or with the organisation of stuff on the server, il still try to be available to anyone that needs any general help. I will still try and get on when i can, but hopefully it will only be to see you guys and hopefully do a bit of building.

Im sorry again and i hope you understand why ive chosen to resign.

Now while Ben hasn’t been a Moderator very long he's been on this server for ages, he should have been promoted ages ago but either because lack of appearance or too many mod positions filled, he never was!

I’m very happy Ben decided to become a Mod for the time he could, I was actually quite worried that he wasn’t going to take the offer as he’s the first once to actually say can I have some time to think about this as I’m not sure if I’ll be able to have time for it. It was that honest ythat I appreciated in him, that he wanted to make sure he had the time before he accepted, whereas others who have been promoted to CSO/Mod etc accept it then barely come on! :S

Being a Moderator on YAMS is not easy, it requires time, effort, the right attitude and for you to have that right frame of mind. Ben did great on all accounts to the best of his ability. So I’m very proud to say we had him as Moderator on YAMS.

Thank you for everything you did on YAMS Ben, as a thank you a little something is on its way to you! Look out for it. I hope it will help!

I hope we will continue to see you around from time to time you know youre always welcome!

Thanks Nick, it was great working with you on Beachside and dont worry il try to come on from time to time. If your ever having trouble dont forget to ask the mods for help

That is the way of the Minecraft world... you get hooked.... it takes over your life and then you need to leave it becuase of life/work/studies!

Members/CSO's/Mods will come and go always, it's not something we can prevent (unless we decide to tie them up), but we can stick together as a community and use the knowledge we have gained from them!

Really sad to hear this
Ben was a great CSO and a greater MOD, always friendly and happy to help people in any way he could and possibly the MOD I was closest too due to us being the same age so we are both going through college at the same time.

Hope to see you on the server from time to time and I wish you the best of luck in your A levels buddy
