Hey everyone,

As I'm sure you are all aware now, in February we will be moving to a new world, see this post here, as part of this move we thought it would be a nice idea to build a massive ark, a bit like Noah’s Ark or the Ark in the film 2012 in which everyone will be given a specific room with 2 chests in which they can place their items in that they which to take to the new world.

This ark will also contain various other such rooms such as kitchens for food and various central stores in which we can bring materials along to start the foundations of the new towns and community builds. These materials should not be used for individual houses in the new world; they are purely there for town and community builds, the resources will be shared equally among the new towns by my staff.

Right so you know what the ark will be for, but what will it look like?

Well that’s where you all come in; we have less than 2 months to get this thing done, sounds like a lot but if we don’t start now it won’t get done in time!

So everyone start posting images, plans, drawings, blue prints and suggest whatever you can for what this ark should look like, it can be as grand or as simple as you like, though I’d prefer grand, simple sometimes works best.

Once we have all decided on what it should look like or at least got some ideas out there we can start gathering materials for it, I already have a location for it, I just need to get some buildings set up around the place, you know resource drop of points, warehouses etc!

After that it’s all about building and filling it with as much as we can.

These are exiting times; let’s make the most of them.

Update:
If you would like to help out you can find the ark building area by following these directions (use /compass to help you.)

• Take the train south from spawn station to the first stop near my birthday cake area.
• Change at this stop and go west here past the pixel art.
• Just keep going west past woodbridge
• You can’t miss the place you’ll know when at the warehouse where you can leave building materials.

There is a farm there that you can use, just please don’t leave floating trees and remember to replant. Also its worth noting that there isn’t a mining world portal there but that doesn’t mean I will tolerate people mining/exploring caves around this area, please do not do so.

Is it an Ark as in Noah and the ark or can it be like a sailing boat type thing? I'm working on some idea's on Singleplayer and in class

Arks come in various forms, I provided everyone with two examples, Noah (old) and the film 2012 (modern) and then theres also Evan Almighty!

I kind of made a version in singleplayer but its not done yet and not to scale. Its sort of an old fashioned boat with gold block decorations will post a few screenshots when I'm done

how about something like the titanic, just one HUGE boat, adds the possibilty for more detail rather than just a big wooden boat

If you want to base it off of Noah's ark, it should be fairly simple. I mean it wasn't to really made to be there permanent house

what we really need to do is make rooms enough to fir everyone and their XX ammount of chests and build around that. make standard rooms for everyone active both in sandbox and towns then build the outer structure over that, for the look we would want

also where is this going to be built? can we have a location?

As I cleary said above we have a location but I need to finish some stuff of on it, with that said until there's been more talk here and I've actually seen some pictures and what not I'm not letting anyone in the area... you'll know when I'm ready but till then start discussing, if it's space you are worried about then dont be, theres enough space.

I think Mur has the right idea.... We have a lot of people, so we need to build around that number. Also, will we need beds in the ark, or are they just storage rooms? If we know how many of how big rooms, we can plan around it

We are pilgrams and we are going to new world.

and if we go on an ark will that mean we will be traveling on water?

Just a few questions. How big do the rooms have to be? Atm I have 80 3x3 rooms, so they are big enough for a few chests but would we want to include a bed in the room or just make a room with beds in?
Also I doubt 80 rooms will be enough so is there an approximate number as to how many 'active' users come on?

Myself, Shippy, wyrd and Fug have all been in creative making one! hopefully shippy will put the pictures up but as of now we have all CSO, all mod/admin and 100+ rooms plus room for food, community supply and anything else all in an epic boat structure fully furnished and ready to go (we think) Shippy has the pics and stuff so hapefully she will post soon

Well it will be build near water, but of course the physics and such of Minecraft dont actually allow us to travel on something we create, though there is a cool mod that can make things you move, it just wouldnt be feasible. Once we are ready I will move the ark to a temp location on the new map, at a latter date it will have a more permanant base (I hope).. but I dont want to be wasting loads of time findind a nice place for it when there will be a million and one other things to do in the new world.. so it will just be a warp to it.

Big enough for 2 double and probably a workbench and maybe some other homely features if its fits such as a bed, not sure about furnace though! I cant give you a list as it alters daily. 2200+ players have a player file. 125 different players have been playing since the update. Does that help?

So I have heard. Nice to see people posting designs, just dont put too much effort into it! I want to make sure everyone gets there input into the ark and we dont just choose one design, so rather we take features from everyone and build together inputing lots of little ideas here and there. Id much rather have an ark that looked rubish but was build by everyone than an ark that looked grand but was build by a select few.

We are traveling to a new world arent we...has anyone else thought less down to earth and more look to the skies?
