madrad 362 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 Hi all I have a question for all those that have used screen capture software. What do you use? At the moment for my work I could do with a screen capture program to create some tutorial videos of how to use a website. The trouble is I have only ever glanced at what is out there and never got to actually using anything. I thought I would ask my fellow YAMiSh people as I know that some of you capture for Minecraft videos (although if you are using something different ignore this...I am making assumptions here ) My one constraint though is that if I was to get software it would need to be (that one lovely / horrible word) Free. Unless of course I can use something I already have to get it (like Adobe Premiere Elements 8 or Windows Movie Maker) and I just dont know of a feature. But anyway please can you enlighten a Mod ignorant in the ways of Directing Motion Pictures.

duomenox 13 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Just wanted to give you guys a few alternatives (for Windows)... First of all skip EZVid... it only exports to YouTube... It's an ok tool but these guys built a product for only YouTube integration. They are hoping that Google will buy their company instead of building their own tool... I prefer the ability to make my videos and not force them on YouTube. CamStudio is still a great option, if you find it useful please consider donating as the guy keeping the page up needs some help to keep it going. http://camstudio.org/ Active-Presenter's Free Edition is a very feature rich option that should fit most people's needs... I'm pretty impressed with the free feature list. The pro version is pretty expensive (it' only $99 if you are a student, teacher, or other educational facilty). To download the free version, goto the store link at the top of the page and click the "Just Download" button for the free version. http://atomisystems.com/activepresenter/free-edition/ Apowersoft is a third option, but I'm not 100% sure that this software is malware free. I'd be cautious with it if you want to try it out (I've read reports of it being linked to malware... but I'm not 100% sure the reports are accurate). http://www.apowersoft.com/free-online-screen-recorder I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to add some options to those who may come accross the thread in their search for options. You've just posted on a year old topic, Dread... Please don't bring the old things back to the for front 8S especially not a year old! It is within the forum rules, if you have a re-read of them 8) Please don't do it again.
darrenstraight 2,330 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 You've just posted on a year old topic, Dread... Please don't bring the old things back to the for front 8S especially not a year old! It is within the forum rules, if you have a re-read of them 8) Please don't do it again. I dont like old topics being bumped either but in this case I think he did the right thing, better to have 1 topic with all the information in than 2 topics, this forum section doesn't get used loads so this topic was still on the first page quite high up. He was trying to give others advice too. :) Also sorry to say this but it isnt actually in the forum rules! *pokes tounge out at you* :P Anyway thanks DreadPirate_Duo for the info and thanks Barty for trying to help keep forums moderated too. Hope no hard feelings between anyone, if there is... I suggest we fight it out in the coliseum! B)
