I quite like this idea although I think it also might be better to have glass instead of iron bars. It could be the Animal House :)

Also something we could have is a couple levels underneath with different animals (kinda like their basement)

Here's my design. I went with a castle sort of theme also. Gave the animals some pen "furnishings" to mix things up. The roof (lack there of) can remain absent or, if wanted, can be present. I thought it was cool for fresh air but some might not like the idea of snow in thee pens.

I think you can put a roof over but not completely consealed. Kinda like a pavilion. Example

@calum im with darren Ive been waiting for the project forman to break ground on the project :)

@all other Snowheimians there is this project for you to help out on.

If someone would like to there are also some problems with the second tree farm with the roof not being finished.

Also another project has been started to utalise the Cave Spider Spawner next to the second tree farm. I have placed BigTyler in charge of this project but any suggestions would be welcomed. I do have a couple nos though.

1. Keep an abandoned mineshaft feel to the place
2. No redstone/water/deep drops... if you want spider eyes/string/xp you will have to fight for it.

Additionally there is the farm hub which could do with finishing. I am thinking of doing a wall and celing design (maybe floor)/a fountain/seating/a statue

Once these 4 projects are completed there are 2 more projects we could move on to planning for.
1. Creating a 3rd tree farm so we can have seperate farms for dark light and white woods (Jungle wood farms do not seem feasable at the moment due to a low drop rate of saplings
2. The Snowheim Castle :)

There is also now a path going down to the underpath from the new mob farm.

Also a wierd 'Cobble Tree' seems to have appeared near the Snowheim Welcome Center. Out attempts to take it down dont seem to be working

Sorry for not taking charge on the building of the farm. I've been busy lately starting summer work and I couldn't play on YAMS as much. I also tested a mod and had a hard time getting rid of it.

I think that what I am about to say should go for all of the towns. The railroad is to long and it is easy to die on it. if you forget to bring food, on your All-around trip, you have 2 options- starve or steal. stealing is BAD. so, some chests could contain melons at the beginning/end of the road. Also, if he art slows down a-bit, you could easily be killed by monsters. I got killed by a skeleton once and a spider another time, in the mine-cart.
I'm suggesting, that if you have the world edit plugin, (do /we. for help on that,) you could move the towns closer together to shorten the road. or you could make more stops along the road, that are monster- free.
But the easiest option would be just to make /warp a public command, and be able to warp to the separate towns. If you don't have a warp plugin, (which i'm pretty sure you do,) I would recommend the Bukkit plugin JustWarp.

Note- It is very hard to use world edit, so be careful!

The towns don't take very long to get to from the spawn railroad system. And I've never been killed on the railroad system, also, you don't die from low hunger bar. It only takes 2-3 minutes at the most to get to each town and you should always carry food or a sword/bow with you just incase.

[*]The railroad is long because we have catered for expansion of having nice things built between towns.
[*]We are a somewhat survival server... not dying is all part of trying to survive.
[*]I have rarely seen people die on the tracks and if you do you can just /home or /spawn and run to it, it doesnt take that long.
[*]As above if you want to get back home from /spawn use /sethome and /home.
[*]It takes 2-3 minutes to get to a town, that includes walking down spawn tower, Ive timed it.
[*]Dont forget to bring food? If you died then just be more careful! ;)
[*]We dont need to use worldedit.
[*]We dont need to stop mobs spawning thats part of the fun in a survival game.
[*]We can do warps already we dont need an extra plugin, do we use them for towns? No... we like players to explore and see changes that d happen on the rails. If they live in a town and want to get home /home. If you need to collect your items on the track just walk or use a minecart.

I think that a library would be nice to have, maybe a extremely elligant one too :lol: hahah a underground epic library with its own little garden in the center :P

Here's something I did on creative. I'd like to see a double floor with sort of balcony/overhang. I just used the blocks that I started out with, it would be in full Snowheim cobble and pine style. This is smallish for a library but I just wanted to capture the balcony idea.

Hi all

So time to make a note of things to do in Snowheim.

The projects that we have on the burner currently are.
1. Farms Hub (Ill make sure this is finished by the weekend)
2. Library (Is everyone ok with the design of this
3. Naming the roads
4. A town castle (eventually)

For the naming project I have made a nice map of snowheim for reference

As you can see on it there are between 8 and 10 roads we can name.

The first thing to deside is if roads 4&6 and 3&7 should be the same street. Personally i think they should but Ill get your opinions.

The other thing is the names. A couple I would personally like are.
Main Street (1)
Highland Road (3 or 1)
Treacle Mine Road (3 or 4)
Animal Crossing (8) (or lane)
Modley Close (5)

Ok now I have a question for where to place the library personally I was wondering about keeping in with our underground extras making this near dales house on road 1 (currently :) ) there is a hill that is slightly cut out for the road to curve round to the insignificant path.

What I was thinking was to hollow out some of this hill and have the library in there. The entrance could be nicely incorperated into that cut out area.
