Heads up, the pre-release of Minecraft 1.2.5 has been released, while the full version of Minecraft 1.2.5 will be released as follows:

The exact same version will be added to the launcher on Wednesday April 4, at 15:00 CEST (06:00 in California, 09:00 in Florida, 22:00 in Korea, and 23:00 in Sydney).

That's 14:00 BST, for us people in the UK!

YAMS won't be updated straight away, we as always have to wait on CraftBukkit + plugins so I suggest you do not update. However should you wish to go and play 1.2.5 without us, please make a copy of your bin folder or the minecraft.jar file so you can come back and play on YAMS if you get bored!

Bin folder located at the following locations ( “~” = username):

Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\~\Application Data\.minecraft
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and R2: C:\Users\~\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
Linux: /home/~/.minecraft
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

If you forget to do this, you will need to use a program like McNostalgia to come back, however bear in mind this takes a while to update.

As always I will keep you updated on the latest news of updating, if you have any concerns relating to YAMS and 1.2.5 please feel free to ask in here and I'm sure someone will be able to answer you.

Mojang have just released an update to Minecraft, and best of all a recommended build is already out for it! Wow! My host is rolling out the update this evening and I shall test myself this evening too with all current plugins, providing all goes well expect us to be updated to 1.2.5 very soon. *fingers crossed* for the time being though we are still on 1.2.4 however with that said it seems you can update to 1.2.5 client side and still connect! so if you update you probably wont be able to get on till we have updated (I've had conflicting reports).

This update is primarily a bug fix release but does include some nice improvements as well:

Added:

• Added shift clicking support in furnaces.
• Added method to easily acquire blocks you have selected in the world in Creative mode using the 'pick block' key.
• Made the Direct Connect dialog remember the last IP for the current session.

Fixed:

• Fixed issues detecting certain links in chat.
• Fixed wild ocelots behaving like tamed cats.
• Fixed various chat crashes.
• Made cats less eager to sit on things.
• Made cats less patient.
• Fixed world generation failing under certain circumstances.
• Fixed issues turning off sound under certain circumstances.
• Removed all ghost entities under the command of Lord Herobrine.
• Fixed crash when pasting certain characters in chat.
• Fixed / key not behaving correctly in...
