this is the suggestions right because i have 1. I think we should have a federal court. say if someone griefes or breaks the rules. before banning them or punishing them in any way make a court
and have the rule breaker take a trial. u have darren and two mods on a podium a witness and a defendant all in a court. Post your opinions on this idea

It would be fun/possibly good for larger cases, and community bonding in the whole thing. But of course for smaller/serious cases instant action would be required.

Also as a problem would be if they became offensive, they would have to be muted, but then they can't be defended

And if the lawyer becomes offensive? Cause the only person I can think of that would defend griefers etc would be their friends who are possibly just as bad

We've dealt with people in this fashion before, it just wasn't in public. Most of the time they are willing to calmly defend their actions until we catch them in a lie....that's when they become offensive and have to be banned.

So, if we were to set up a public court system and the defendant was to become offensive it would be considered contempt of court and would = instantaneous ban.

Another issue to consider though is that the chat log only stays on the screen for so long (or rather so many lines) and we'd have to figure out a way to keep people from all talking at once thereby pushing the conversation off the screen.
With the potential for 24 players it can get out of control quicklly but there are some ways to handle it.

I don't think we'd have any problems finding a prosecuting attorney, but anyone out there ever dreamed of being a public defense lawyer? Now's your chance to speak up for the undefended!

Interesting ideas so far....what other obstacles would we have to overcome to make this successful?

Lol JB, just gave me an idea. The issue of words etc only being on screen so long? Appoint a record keeper for the trial, like in the real ones. They can type up or just write down main points of what is said, then on request read back

Dont forget that Rob (madrad) has already suggested a court and was also suggested before a long time ago by MasterHiku. Rob has some plans drawn up for a new jail/court house! :-)

Great new people the court house/jail system is coming along quite nicely... it will be opening soon... and has some interesting features that will make it a lot easier to manage and too you bad people dont try and excape you will be hunted down by wolves... also theres the possiblty of making people do time... farming weat etc!!!
