Lord_Verigan 52 Report post Posted May 28, 2013 Here's my idea for a possible minigame i thought off. Here's how it works: You have 2 people on a pillar and a light next to them. When the light goes on, the players must try to knock the other one off the pillar first (not allowed to move, just punch). The thing is, you don't know when the light will come on, making for unpredictability! In this way, the game is essentially based on reflexes and nothing else, making it unlike any other games on YAMS! As for making the light go on, maybe another person can be the one to turn on the light or maybe a switch with a long delay if there is only 2 people. Just punching with hands or would there be say knockback sticks like at the oasis arena? 4. Could I not just keep punching with my fists before the light has gone? Would there have to be a divider to stop this which lowers/raises when ready to punch? 5. Would there be 2 pillars one for each player? Or more thinking along the lines of other "knock you block off" games where you and the otherplayer are both on one long horizontal pole and you have to knock the other off, forcing them to end of the pole so they fall of is always fun! 6. A restone randomiser shouldnt be to hard to make, Ive seen variations use: Dispensers, preasure plates, cobwebs, cactus/melon growth, droppers, hoppers etc. Just more thinking wether the actual randomiser would get used or if it would be better just to have a ready steady go timer.... depends on lots of things, mainly what I said above. Lord_Verigan 52 Report post Posted May 29, 2013 I didn't actually know that you could make knockback sticks legitimately, so those would work much better then fists for this game. Also, I think it would be good to use 2 pillars instead of 1, which was what I was originally thinking. I think that a randomiser for this would be really helpful so as not to make the gameplay repetitive by making the light unpredictable. To keep cheaters at bay in this game, maybe a glass wall that would lower in sync with the light? However, there would have to be a rule about not spamming the left click button to keep people from clicking before the wall lowers. Also, no crouching allowed to be fair. To clear up any confusion, I'll get around to making a concept game design very soon! Edit: Oh! Oh! I just thought of a possible way to prevent early hitting! what is the wall that lowers is a leaf block and you had knockback shears instead?
