Dear Steve Carter,

 
We are writing to inform you that your funding has been approved for a second expedition to Egypt. We have consulted with the YAMS Institute of the Sciences and they have informed us that they will be able to open another portal, near the last (bottom of spawn tower), that should take a team back to the same time and location as before.
 
We regret to inform you however that you Steve Carter will not be able to attend this trip, it will instead be headed by the renowned Archaeologist Professor Darren 'Indiana' Straight and his team of slaves, tomb robbers yaminions.
 
The trip will take place between 17th of March 2014 and 31st of March 2014, if you wish to attend this expedition we are sure that Professor Straight will welcome your assistance.

You heard him, we better start collecting sand....

 

Also I suggest you all take a look at the previous Egypt Build challenge topic here so you know what to expect and discuss what we are going to do.

 

EDIT: Sand can be located in the mining world at -975 blocks or so north of mining world spawn.

 

EDIT 2: The green balloon at the University of YAMS can also take you to sand!

I gathered 29 stacks of sand so far today, can't wait for this to start

Just to add, i have been playing around inside the pyramid continuing my efforts from all that time ago, creating a confusing internal tunnel structure... Now I remember why this took so much sand.

 

Also I have made a transport system to get from the quarry to the pyramid, I hope you all like

It's possible that it may all be mined? Theres another desert if you go north west past the village then the river and I think a savanna.

Just a reminder the portal closes at the end of the week.

For unknown reasons, possibly an act of God. The portal doesn't seem to want to close, while our scientists investigate the exact cause please carry on with your efforts to complete the challenge. Our scientists believe they will have the portal closed by Monday the 7th of May 2014.
