Doctor Who's twelfth Doctor

Calling all Doctor Who fans! Yes even the ones who only like specifc Doctors or think they themselves are the Doctor...

 

Now that Peter Capaldi as had more than just a few episodes as the Doctor giving us a more in depth feel for his personality as the Doctor, what's your thoughts on him as the Doctor? And season/series 8 in general?

 

And what's your thoughts on Missy and Heaven? Might be worth using spoiler tags for anything too revealing, I know some people haven't caught up yet.

I kinda like him, he is very different to what we have been used to (I can only speak to New Who, haven't watched enough Old Who yet as I want to try to watch in somewhat order) which I have mixed feelings about. It is definitely cool to have a more serious doctor but I kind of miss the old silly doctors

I'm loving him.  It's been a VERY long time since we had a Doctor who was a complete grouch, and the way he interacts with everyone - especially Clara - is a blast to watch.  Capaldi's a great actor too, every time the Doctor's on screen he's full of energy and activity.

 

My favorite line from him is still from Into the Dalek:  "She's my carer.  She cares so I don't have to."  Either that or Flatline's "Can you just give me a moment to enjoy NOT knowing something?  It happens so rarely."

Capaldi is a fantastic actor and I knew he'd be able to fit his foot into whatever role they through at him. Glad he fought his cases on Accent, costume and his wedding ring though. Not enjoying the latest twice but hey, lets see what Moffat does with this one.
