grindboy 61 Report post Posted August 24, 2011 Hi Gang, I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 32gb HP Touchpad during the firesale and was wondering if anyone else got their hands on one and if so what your impressions of them are? Personally I'm astonished that HP managed to balls this device up at all. The hardware is gorgeous the software (once updated) is speedy, its ridiculously easy to hack! The stock browser is the best I've used on a mobile device and it has the 3 apps I need (Twitter, facebook and angry birds!) So what say you YAMSians? Is the TouchPad discontinuation a travesty or good riddens to bad rubbish? See you in Blockspace Grindboy

ryanfenton 192 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 In a way, I think hp should have continued with it. Always good to have a bit of competition I have an ipad. I only bought it as its an easier and quicker way to access the internet and for the games really. Its also easier to take on holiday than a laptop. I wouldn't say it is the best tablet....cause its not. The hp touchpad sounded like good competition and because it was easier to hack, it had loads of potentional. grindboy 61 Report post Posted August 26, 2011 Yeh I'd agree I think they killed it too soon, if they'd come out at a more reasonable price point, taken a loss to get users into the ecosystem, in order to beef up the developer interest it could have done well. After updating and installing all the speed hacks (including overclocking to 1.5ghz) this thing flies. Very happy with my purchase. I might even think twice about getting an Android tablet (I know for cetain now that I'm going to wait for Ice Cream Sandwich) Michael
