i tryied the 1.8 prerelease now i put the stuff back to how it was then went to minecraft.net and could no cuz of me not being Adminatrator so i reset the computer then it absloutly ignored the website and was on the same website so i tryied the minecraft shortcut and it said it could not get to the internet and i tryied the website again and did the same thing so now i cant get on

1.8 dont like to go back to 1.7.3

What you have to do is go into your minecraft's "bin" folder, and delete minecraft.jar
Next time you try to log into MC don't hit Login, go to Options and press "Force Update"
This will update you to 1.7.3
Now next time you want to go to 1.8, in the MC files create a new folder called "tempfolder" or something similar. Move the old minecraft.jar into here.
Then place the new 1.8 minecraft.jar into the "bin" folder. To go back to 1.7.3 just play musical folders until the old one is in the right place.
This worked for me. Let me know if you need help.
As far as connecting to MC, it seems many people are having trouble logging in right now.
