Anyway, i noticed from my traffic stats that I'd got a few hits from this forum (specifically the linked topic) and wanted to just add to that topic.
I started using the name publicly on Nov 23, 2010 (https://github.com/r.../master?page=15) and had no problem when your server popped up using the same name, why would I, they do different things?
But then today I noticed that your blog has blatent keyword stuffing all over it (a blog covered in ads) which isn't very cool at all. I made YAMS originally for my own needs, but now it there are over 300 installs serving more than 2,000 players (http://yams.in/usage.html#.TzJdvlw9X7M) all for free. It even costs me money to run the free dynamic DNS service built into it, let alone the time put into coding it all.
Normally I wouldn't have said anything, as mentioned, they are different services so should be able to co-exist, but then I saw the locked topic and the keyword stuffing on your blog and that's just not cool. I don't have the time to counter your search engine tricks, nor do I have any ad-revenue coming in from getting those search engine hits like you do.
It makes no difference to me if 1 person or 2000 people are using my software, I made it for myself. At the end of the day, the only people losing out are those that want to start their own server quickly and easily but are instead sent here. If you want to help those people out, the cool thing to do would be to link back to the other YAMS site (http://yams.in) and I'll do the same (i.e. "If you are looking for the family friendly server to join, go here instead").
Again, sorry this was mentioned here, I'd rather have used the topic that actually mentions it but it's locked and I can't post in the general chat yet either.
