Paint.NET v2.5 beta is now available to download, so why not give it a try!

October 4th, 2005: Paint.NET v2.5 Beta 2 is now available that fixes a critical bug in Beta 1. If you already have a previous build of v2.5 instealled then we prefer that you install this update via the built-in update mechanism within Paint.NET. Simply click on the green circle in the main UI toolbar right below the File menu, or go click the menu item Help -> Updates -> Check Now.

Here is a list of the fixes:

Fixed crash when opening a Paint.NET (PDN) file saved with any older version
Fixed eraser not drawing with brush size was 1 and anti-aliasing was turned off
Fixed some layer thumbnail flickering, and a small performance issue

Please note that this build will expire on November 3st. An update will be available before then. The final release of v2.5 will not expire.
