Ever heard of XTParty? well if not then don’t worry you’re not alone because neither had I until I received an invited request to check it out, at first I thought it was just another social networking site like PPLParty and blahblahbox, and I guess that it is somewhat that!

But like all sites and products I test I thought I would let someone from the inside tell me their side of the story as to why they had created it, in this case I asked some a bunch of questions to Steve the guy who contacted me about XTParty.

Heres what he had to say in response to my questions:

Why the name XTParty?
We realized a lot of people liked the name party due to a couple of other sites and we just put two and two together as we were originally http://www.teen-vault.com/,  it was too long to type up and very easily forgettable, so we came up with XTParty.com which infact stands for ‘X-Treem Party’ which is also how we chose to spell it as it is very easy to remember and quite catchy don’t you think.

Do we really need another social networking site?
Well will there ever be a limit lol. Although we are truly unique and as you will notice if you sign up we have everything as a whole for our users, we have birthday calendars, instant messenger, live chat rooms, music videos on your profile, we offer unlimited picture uploads, online radio & lots more, instead of signing up for 10 different sites just to receive these features. We also take ideas from our users to try and make them a reality if there unsatisfied. It’s YOUR party…the way YOU want it!

What do you hope to accomplish with XTParty?
We hope to accomplish nothing as such; we just know we needed to do this. We found people would prefer an all in one site instead of slowing there connection speeds down by opening 5 or more windows when with XTParty you only need the one.

What unique features does XTParty provide compared to other social networking sites?
We provide ALL IN ONE features such as: unlimited messages, unlimited picture uploads, unlimited love letters, online radio, events calendar, music videos, profile videos, instant messenger, live chat rooms, birthday calendars for users and there friends and a phew other things we have up our sleeve but you’ll need to sign up to find out 😛 .

I see profiles have a Membership Type on them, mine says Standard, are you thinking about providing upgrades to profiles? If so would these be bought with money or points?
Ouch you’re good on the eye. We have a phew options for users to get upgraded to ‘v.i.p’ or ‘gold’ membership. Users can pay by text service (which is currently being sorted for you guys) or via activity points earned by using XTParty regularly. Each profile will be reviewed by admin once a month and if they have gained 30 points we send a message just asking the user if they would like to keep there points or use them to pay for ‘v.i.p’ membership for a year. These points can be earned by sending messages, messaging in blogs, rating pictures plus other general stuff.

How do you hope to keep the younger members safe?
We only have users from the age of 13, we are aware that this is still a young age and that people still try to upload unsuitable content but this is something every website faces, as from 1st November admin as a new feature to verify images but until then we have to check them manually so sorry if there is any unsuitable content, we also have a reporting system where younger or older users may report spamming, nudity or any other unsuitable content and we will deal with them personally to guarantee it wont happen again. The ‘report user’ is at the bottom of almost every page where you message or receive a message or simply on your profile.

Why isn’t the about us page finished, surely you need this to help people understand what you are trying to accomplish?
Sorry we wasn’t aware but we will get back to you on that one as we will rearrange a phew things, we have tried our best to make sure everything works and everything is in order but for new starters things can always go wrong. Lol

And finally do you honestly believe XTParty will be a success?
We truly believe it could be around for a while as we will not give up. The going may get tough at times and difficulties will arise but hopefully we can overcome them and have luck on our side as we attempt to grow and expand our network.
