Joseph Roland “Joe” Barbera, one half of the team behind such cartoon classics as Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, and Scooby-Doo, has died, aged 95.<\/p>\n
He co-founded Hanna-Barbera Studios with William Hanna in the 1957 after the pair earlier worked on the Tom and Jerry series at MGM studios.<\/p>\n
Other classic characters to originate from Hanna-Barbera included The Jetsons, Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound.<\/p>\n
Joe was said to have died of natural causes at home with his wife, Sheila, at his side.<\/p>\n
