{"id":1207,"date":"2007-04-26T17:22:33","date_gmt":"2007-04-26T16:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2007\/04\/26\/spinal-tap-to-reunite-for-live-earth-concert\/"},"modified":"2007-04-26T17:22:33","modified_gmt":"2007-04-26T16:22:33","slug":"spinal-tap-to-reunite-for-live-earth-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2007\/04\/26\/spinal-tap-to-reunite-for-live-earth-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"Spinal Tap to Reunite for Live Earth Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/artist\/?artist=16081083\" class=\"altlink\">Spinal Tap<\/a> is back, and this time the band wants to help save the world from global warming.<\/p>\n<p>The mock heavy metal group immortalized in the 1984 mockumentary, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/movies\/movie.aspx?m=134520\" class=\"altlink\">This Is Spinal Tap<\/a>,&#8221; will reunite for a performance at Wembley Stadium in London as part of the Live Earth concerts scheduled worldwide for July 7.<\/p>\n<p>The original members of Spinal Tap will be there: guitarist Nigel Tufnel (played by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/celebs\/celeb.aspx?c=317042\" class=\"altlink\">Christopher Guest<\/a>), singer David St. Hubbins (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/celebs\/celeb.aspx?c=290022\" class=\"altlink\">Michael McKean<\/a>) and bassist Derek Smalls (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/celebs\/celeb.aspx?c=28414\" class=\"altlink\">Harry Shearer<\/a>). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveearth.msn.com\/celebs\/celeb.aspx?c=23607\" class=\"altlink\">Rob Reiner<\/a>, who both directed &#8220;This Is Spinal Tap&#8221; and played the fake documentarian Marty DeBergi in the film, will also be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pandora.com\/?tc=s-003475-0035-1152&amp;search=Spinal%20Tap&amp;searchfilter=artist\">Create a PANDORA radio station based on Spinal Tap<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spinal Tap is back, and this time the band wants to help save the world from global warming.
