{"id":1598,"date":"2010-03-06T22:21:06","date_gmt":"2010-03-06T22:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/06\/punkbuster-restriction-disallowed-programdriver-125120\/"},"modified":"2010-03-06T22:21:06","modified_gmt":"2010-03-06T22:21:06","slug":"punkbuster-restriction-disallowed-programdriver-125120","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/06\/punkbuster-restriction-disallowed-programdriver-125120\/","title":{"rendered":"PunkBuster Restriction: Disallowed Program\/Driver [125120]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last couple of days I&#8217;ve been playing Cod4 MW (Call of Duty Modern Warfare) Multiplayer, it&#8217;s just one of those games that once I start playing again I can&#8217;t stop! \ud83d\ude42 Anyhow I could&#8217;nt play any server that was using the Anti Cheat system PukBuster as I\u00a0kept on getting an error message\u00a0saying PunkBuster is not installed, I reinstalled and downloaded the latest updates but still nothing, eventually I fixed the problem as well as some issues involving being\u00a0kicked out every time I tried and kill someone. :S<\/p>\n<p>But then I started recieveing the following message:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NOTICE: Darren PunkBuster kicked player &#8216;Darren&#8217; (for 0 minutes) &#8230;\u00a0RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program\/Driver [125120]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Took me a while but I found a solution on the steam forums <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.steampowered.com\/forums\/showthread.php?t=1170027\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that you need to do the following, open up Steam and Disable steam overlay in games, by going to: Settings &gt; In-game tab &gt; uncheck steam community. Not the best solution if you still want the steam\u00a0community window open in game, but at leat it works. I&#8217;m sure someone else will have the problem so I thought id post my findings here.
