Now this is interesting and after checking it my self it seems like it’s for real, but then again did he just use the\u00a0source from somewhere else like pligg.com<\/a>\u00a0which is an open source version of digg basically!<\/p>\n

Steve Mallett from O’Reilly has stolen digg’s code
\nIt seems Steve Mallett, (writer for O’Reilly) has copy-and-pasted digg’s CSS and HTML directly into his own digg clone sites. Then decided to SPAM O’Reilly sites on digg. Don’t worry, I have proof:<\/p>\n

Before he tries to deny that he owns the sites:
\nhttp:\/\/linuxfilter.com\/user.php?login=god&view=profile<\/a> (his profile)
\nhttp:\/\/www.oreillynet.com\/pub\/wlg\/8883<\/a> (his post I spent the day building digg for iTunes)
\nhttp:\/\/www.oreillynet.com\/pub\/wlg\/8729<\/a><\/p>\n

If that isn’t enough proof, WHOIS the following domains:
\nLinuxfilter.com
\nItuneslove.com
\n180n.com<\/p>\n

Now, compare these files (search for “digg”):
\nhttp:\/\/digg.com\/css\/digg2.css<\/a>
\nhttp:\/\/linuxfilter.com\/css\/meneame1.css<\/a><\/p>\n

As you can see he didn’t even take the time to remove all digg references. Not only that but he uses the same comment boxes, and images (copyrighted by digg) for his profile tabs.<\/p>\n

Steve’s stolen image:

Digg should sue the shit out of this guy! This is just sad, especially from a O’Reilly writer. But wait, there is more. Not only is he steal digg code, he is also spamming his sites on digg:<\/p>\n

Digg Spammer (his O’Reilly site):

^^ Not sure if \u00e2\u20ac\u02dclinuxbeta’ is him? Then go to http:\/\/www.linuxbeta.com\/<\/a>, wow takes you back to his site.<\/p>\n

Wait, wait, wait, you say. How could Steve do this? Surly this is his first time and he doesn’t know any better. It’s not like he tried to clone del.icio.us or anything. Oh wait, he did: de.lirio.us<\/p>\n
