{"id":688,"date":"2006-06-01T21:01:49","date_gmt":"2006-06-01T20:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2006\/06\/01\/developer-days-2006-london\/"},"modified":"2006-06-01T21:22:18","modified_gmt":"2006-06-01T20:22:18","slug":"developer-days-2006-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darrenstraight.com\/blog\/2006\/06\/01\/developer-days-2006-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Developer Days 2006 London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok so today I attended DevDays 2006 ( Developer Days 2006)<\/p>\n<p>Not long after I signed up for attendance to DevDays 2006 on the Microsoft website I started to wonder if I was doing to right thing, and I had load of questions in my head: would this event be for me?, would I like it?, what if I hate it when I&#8217;m there?, what if they start talking about developing ASP and SQL and I don&#8217;t understand any of it?<\/p>\n<p>But despite all these questions and knowing very well that DevDays was for developers I decided to attend because I thought to myself what&#8217;s the worst that can happen and after all if you don&#8217;t sign up to something and attend how are you ever going to know what it&#8217;s like.<\/p>\n<p>So I attended and well it was all pretty good, but I have to admit there was a lot of times when I didn&#8217;t have a clue what was being talked about, but hey I did learn a fair amount which would help with my college assignments and the food was nice!<\/p>\n<p>Ok so the question is, would I attend the next DevDays event?<\/p>\n<p>Well I&#8217;m not sure but probably not because at the end of the day it was great going and all and I liked the Hacking &#038; Windows Vista Security Session but I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m really ready for being a hard core developer in .net or SQL just quite yet.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe next year I&#8217;ll try and go to a TechNet event instead, I did want to go to one this year but I had exams at that point, oh well at least I still have my Windows Live Sessions which rock, much more interesting!
