Now you can talk in Google Mail
I have just logged into Gmail and just got a message saying Now you can talk in Google Mail so I guess that means that the Google Mail/Gmail Chat feature is now up and running, I’m going to check it out right now!
- Chat – Send instant messages from directly within Google Mail. When you go to your inbox, you’ll be online.
- Status – See when others are online and let them know when you’re online, away, busy, tired, whatever.
- History – Chats can be just like emails. Save them, search for them–never lose important chats again.
You can get started with this feature right now (it’s always changeable in ‘Settings’):
Update: ok all seems to work fine except I once recieved this mesage:
We’re experiencing technical difficulties that may prevent your chats from being sent.
So yeah apart from that one message it’s working just fine! 🙂

Cool…maybe this feature has been added to keep people going back to their gmail inbox rather than use pop3…remember Google makes money when you’re in your inbox with ads. 😛

Exactly my thought they want their ad’s seen so what better way to do it then bring you to the heart of them! 😉
