MSN Chat closes on the 18th of October 2006

As part of an overall effort by MSN and Microsoft to provide consumers with a safer, more secure and positive overall online experience, MSN have finally decided to no longer offer MSN Chat in the US as of the 18th of October 2006.

So from that day forth which is only 3 years after the closing of MSN Chat in the UK which happened on the 14th of October 2006, you will have to find somewhere else to talk to your MSN buddies, your best bet would be to use Windows Live Messenger.

Well I’m not surprised. They also closed it down completely because of the lack of new user sign-ups, which I know started after they started making people subscribe and pay to chat. I used to chat at MSN until they did this and I left, along with HUGE numbers of people. They brought that on themselves, thinking that they would be able to make money off of people chatting. Way to go Bill Gates and Co. *thumbs up*
