Review of Pixars New Movie Ratatouille!

Last night I was in London for an exclusive press screening of Pixars new animated movie Ratatouille, and I must say the film was certainly enjoyable. Ratatouille is most possible Pixars best movie yet, not only is it action packed with excitement, funniness and cuteness but it’s also a movie which all audiences can enjoy to put it simple it’s family entertainment at its best!

Before going to the Ratatouille screening I first met up with Sarah from Premierehub at Waterloo Station where we walked all the way to the The Marquess of Anglesey Pub in Covent Garden, where we had a drink and some fries. This is a Pub I frequently come to as it has some nice sofas! :p However I’m wondering if it’s time to start exploring some other pubs which are maybe cheaper but still pretty good so if anyone can recommend any good pubs in the Covent Garden Area or surroundings id be grateful?

After having our drinks we headed towards a Hotel in Soho for the screening. Once there we registered in on the guest list and went inside the reception area for drinks and some social networking with other people around. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do networking before the film started. But I did manage to have a nice conversation with Graham Bailey of the Daily Express, though I forgot to bring with me my business cards so I ended up writing down my site/blog on a piece of paper, nerveless he promised that he would check out my blog, so hey Graham if you’re on here, a big thanks for visiting, it was nice talking to you! 🙂

Once everyone was sat down and told that tonight’s screening would be using Digital Projection, the projection started rolling and on came one of Pixars animated short films called Lifted, this was the first time I’ve seen this short film and it was pretty funny. The short film tells the story of a young alien student who tests the patience of his instructor as he attempts a first-time abduction which he just can’t seem to manage successfully. This Short film in its self received some pretty good laughs!

Once the short film was over it was Ratatouille (Rat-a-too-ee) time.

However I’m not going to give you an entire plot for the film as I think that would spoil the film for you. But I will tell you that that Ratatouille is probably one of the best animated films I’ve seen in quite a while. And Ratatouille is most possible Pixars best movie yet, because as I said at the start of this post, not only is it action packed with excitement, funniness and cuteness but it’s also a movie which all audiences can enjoy –which is family entertainment at its best.

Though some will argue that some of the scenes that contained guns being fired and dead bodies of rats in a display window could have been handled better, I believe Pixar acted right and that it certainly received some good laughs that night. I for one am happy to have watched it – and would love to watch it again!

After the film ended I managed to convince Sarah to head over to Pub Standards, this was my first time at a Pub Standards and it was pretty cool, quite a lot of people where from Yahoo or had connections with it.

I talked to various people, some of which I could swear I’ve meet before, though they didn’t seem to remember me, one being Caz (Caroline Mockett). I told her that id definitely seen and talked to her before but I couldn’t quite remember where. Well on the way home on the train I realised where I had talked to her before, that being at the second Blogger/Web2.0 Mixer Event (Flickr pics here), see she has a post about it here. Do you remember me now Caz, or were you really that drunk? 🙂

Anyhow after some more chatting and drinking at Pub Standards, I decided to head home, because though I would have loved to gone to the club afterwards, I knew that not only did I have work the next day but that it would also mean waiting until the early morning for the next train. 🙁

So overall it was a great evening and night out. I really enjoyed Pixars Movie Ratatouille (Rat-a-too-ee) and I can’t wait to see it again when it’s released in October – Ratatouille is definitely a film for the whole family – the kids are going to love it! 😀

And one last think I would like to mention, a big thanks goes to Claudio for the invite!

Hey,

I’m dreading to see the photos you took…! What business card printers do you use, and what was the name of that awesome phone you had?

Thankies!

I use Goodprint and as for the phone it was a T-Mobile MDA Vario II, though depending on what supplier it is it will be called something else. Ultimately its the HTC TyTN / HTC Hermes .
