My Internet Plot (MyInternetPlot.com)
My Internet Plot (http://www.MyInternetPlot.com) is apparently the World’s First Virtual Real Estate Trader, the website is created by Duncan and in a way it’s very similar to the original pixel website The Million Dollar Homepage because it sells pixels but instead of just selling them all over the page you actually buy plots of land on a map, I think it’s quite a nice implementation of a pixel website so I’ve included a bit about it from the site bellow.

What’s this website about?
The idea behind this website is brilliantly simple. I started MyInternetPlot.com with the hope of it becoming the Internet’s first ‘virtual city’; where people & businesses of any size can purchase virtual plots of land to place their logo on.
…But why would I want to purchase a plot in this virtual city?
Because your website will get a great deal of exposure for an extremely low, one-off cost. In a real-world city, brand names and logos are everywhere. MyInternetPlot.com was created with the idea of eventually giving every website, no matter how small, a pretty much equal chance to place their logo in a prominent place within this virtual city.
Unlike real cities, the MyInternetPlot.com city never needs regenerating. Nor does it suffer from crime-waves or natural disasters. It never decays or disintegrates. Remember, the advertisment to your business will never be removed or vandalized.
Just like in a real city, the MyInternetPlot.com city experiences geographical variations in real estate prices. The CBD (‘Central Business District’; darkest red on the map) is the key to the whole city – the financial thinktank if you will. Placing your logo here, for instance, would generate the most clicks to your website – as it’s visible to every visitor to MyInternetPlot.com, conveniently placed at the top-left of the map.

The MyInternetPlot.com city has been organized in such a way that the highest ‘real’ estate prices are at the top of the page (north) – and decrease as one progresses south. Like practically every city in the world today, the MyInternetPlot.com city has many suburbs and streets. For example, to the south of the city lies the “Downtown” suburbs – where you will find the cheapest real estate prices(excluding the Wasteland). As one goes further north, just over the River Medway, you will come across an area called Marketplace. If you have a retail website, for example, you could really benefit your business by placing your logo here.
There is also an area of the MyInternetPlot.com map where businesses can post their businesses for free; they call it the Wasteland (SW Corner of map). That’s right, free promotion for absolutely no cost you. Ever. Be warned though, this part of town isn’t that desirable…
