UK Live Earth Unveiled

Seventeen of the headliners who will play Wembley Stadium in London as part of the 24-hour, 7-continent Live Earth concerts on 7/7/07 were unveiled today by Live Earth founder and executive producer Kevin Wall. Ticketing for the UK concert begins on Friday the 13th of April 2007.

“This monster lineup will ensure Live Earth meets our goal of bringing together people from around the world to combat the climate crisis,” Wall said. “Live Earth will not only span all 7 continents, but the musicians who have answered our call span multiple genres and generations.”

“By attracting an audience of billions, we hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis,” said Live Earth co-chair vice president Al Gore. “But ultimately, corporations and governments must become global leaders taking decisive action to stop global warming.”

Live Earth is a monumental music event that will bring together more than 2 billion people to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth’s 24 hours of music across 7 continents will deliver a call to action and the solutions needed to answer the call. Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action. Live Earth is joining with The Climate Group, Stop Climate Chaos and The Alliance for Climate Protection on this effort.

Exclusive online media partner MSN is helping Live Earth reach people in every corner of the globe. The concerts will be streamed live on 7/7/07 at LiveEarth.MSN.com. MSN’s 39 localized web portals worldwide attract 465 million monthly users. The concerts will be broadcast on the BBC in the UK and on more than 120 networks around the world.
